SiemensInternational energy giant Siemens moved 200 staff members to Cobalt Park, in March 2015, after the firm signed a five-year lease to rent significant office space.


Siemens, which employees more than 1,000, recently recruited over 350 new staff to support its Renewables Service business. Around 200 of those employees moved to the new 39,200 sq ft facility on Cobalt. The new premises also has space for 50 more new recruits as the company continues to grow.


The state-of-the-art office is home to the company’s newly integrated Energy Service division for the UK, which brings together the businesses responsible for servicing conventional power plants and wind farms.


As the result of integration, the new division, Siemens Energy Service UK and Ireland, will offer significant benefits to customers, including reduced costs and greater operational efficiencies. It will also focus on driving zero harm health and safety and customer service best practice, as well as supporting the growth of Renenewables in the UK, especially offshore wind power through the Crown Estates’ Round Three development programme.


Together with a world-class Integrated Energy Training Facility in Newcastle, the new office on Cobalt represents a significant investment by Siemens in the region, the wind business and its employees.
