Specialist Engineering firm makes Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate move

A £5m refurbishment at North Tyneside’s Tyne Tunnel Estate has continued to bear fruit after the final unit was snapped up by a specialist engineering company.

Trinity Precision Engineering has taken the 5,691 sq ft unit G3 – one of 11 worked on during the latest phase of investments at the site.

Managing director Carl Buckley believes the move is very much a case of “looking to the future”.

“We are just four-years-old and yet have established an excellent reputation,” he said. “To allow us to grow we needed what the G units offer – open plan production/distribution space, high quality open plan offices with staff facilities and so on.

“Our aim isn’t to be the biggest but simply be the best.”

David Gibbs of landlord UK Land Estates, which was behind the investment, added: “Our continued investment into the estate is paying dividends and we now have a wide range of businesses from trade to high tech engineering firms.

“It is hoped that we can continue with a further round of investment which again will improve the aesthetics of the estate but continue to make Tyne Tunnel Estate one of the premier locations in the North East to situate a business. It is great to welcome Trinity Precision Engineering to the estate and we hope the business can grow and expand in the years to come.”

Mark Proudlock, partner in Knight Frank’s industrial agency, represented UK Land Estates in the letting.
