More than 60 jobs created as Utility Alliance expands into North Tyneside – and more will follow

Energy consultancy Utility Alliance has expanded into Tyneside with plans to create more than 60 new jobs.

The fast-growing firm, which was launched in Hartlepool, has opened a second office at Quorum Business Park in North Tyneside.

The company will create more than 60 new roles in an initial phase, with further growth planned.

The company has taken 13,500sqft in the top floor of building Q1 at Quorum, which gives the company room for further expansion – the largest letting in the area so far this year.

Utility Alliance trades, monitors and uses the latest technologies to lower electric, gas and water bills for businesses and was set up in Hartlepool in 2015.

Since then the firm has grown from an initial team of just six employees to a workforce of around 200 people and is recognised as one of the fastest growing of its kind in the utilities sector, working alongside some of the biggest suppliers in the world to secure deals for clients.

Bob Moore, managing director of Utility Alliance said: “We are excited about the expansion to Newcastle, and an exciting new chapter for the business. We are pleased with the new space at Quorum, and how quickly the new team has been recruited, and been able to get up and running.”

Fergus Trim of Broadoak, the asset managers at Quorum said: “We are pleased to welcome Utility Alliance to  Tyneside and to Quorum.

“The new jobs growth is really positive, and they are growing fast. It was good to work closely with the business to get them into the space and up and working as quickly as possible.”

The company’s move comes a month after software specialist Technology Services Group (TSG) moved to a new base at Quorum Business Park as more of its nationwide staff switch to working from home.

It had been based at Newcastle Business Park since inception but directors have moved its headquarters to a 5,650sqft office in the Q11 building at Quorum Business Park.
